{"id":1792,"date":"2014-12-10T13:00:44","date_gmt":"2014-12-10T18:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/electricsaver1200.com\/blog\/?p=1792"},"modified":"2017-02-28T15:11:49","modified_gmt":"2017-02-28T20:11:49","slug":"exciting-view-future-energy-production","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.electricsaver1200.com\/blog\/exciting-view-future-energy-production\/","title":{"rendered":"An exciting view of the future of energy production"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I wish humans lived longer &#8211; it&#8217;s an exciting time to be alive.<\/p>\n<p>There are more alternative energy sources in use now than ever before, fighting to free us from our dependence on non-renewable resources. With more than seven billion people on the planet and global warming a reality, these technologies are being developed just in time.<\/p>\n<p>Solar power is becoming more efficient, and not just with panels. Mirrors are used to focus light to boil water, creating steam that powers turbines. Hydroelectricity needs a river and tidal power needs ocean tides and currents to harness energy from the flow of water.<\/p>\n<p>Biomass plants use methane created from the breakdown of plant and animal material. Wind powers turbines with a low environmental impact, and geothermal power plants convert heat from the earth itself into power.<\/p>\n<p>Nuclear plants are controversial, and while they offer large amounts of energy, safety and storage concerns make this a less attractive option.
